My New, Amazing Life!

Well, after lots of waiting, planning and anticipating - I finally am a 'stay-at-home mom' --AND LOVING IT!!!!! Jon and I had a long term goal and finally reached it! I never would have imagined what a drastic change it would be to go from working part-time to not at all. My official first day off was this Monday. It was so invigorating! I don't know what the difference was but it felt amazing. I absolutely love being home and being a FULL TIME Mom and Wife. I feel I have such control now. I spent the first day cleaning, planning meals, playing with lex, and doing laundry - I had a blast! I love my husband so much for working so hard so that I could be home. I hope that he will enjoy it as much as I do!

Time for change!

We have lived in our home for approximatly 3 1/2 years. When we move in, country, french cottage was the popular decor theme. So just in the past little while I have been trying to update our decor. I love the look of old world, warm tuscan design. So I'm in the process of changing over. Here are a few of the before pix of my kitchen - I've been workin on re-wallpapering this past week. I wanted an old tumbled mable stone backsplash but found that wallpaper gave the look and was about 1/4 the cost. Now I just have to paint the rest of the walls.

Whats your favorite color?

This weeks challange was to figure out what your favorite color is. Well I am in the middle of re-painting my entire house so my initial thought was TAUPE. You know you would think that taupe is taupe - but its not. There is a million and 1 different shades of taupe. But thinking a little deeper - I've come to the conclusion that my favorite color is the shade of my sweet babys eyes. I absolutely love walking into her room in the morning to see her bright, blue eyes looking back at me. They really get my day going in the right direction!

Happy Memorial Day!

I wanted to do a little something for Lex to deliver to her cousins for the holiday. We went to Excel ice cream co. yesterday and got some giant popsicles called Ice Tickles and some red and blue Laffy Taffys. We put everything in a bag with red, white and blue tissue and an american flag of course and delivered them to all her cousins. I am hoping to do a little something for every holiday - so that Lex will start understanding the meaning of the different holidays. Happy Memorial Day everyone! We are so grateful for all of our armed forces that help to keep us protected! God Bless America!!

Just A Bit About Me

I am happily married to my husband Jon - of 4 year. I have a beautiful little girl Alexa Shae. She is the light our lives. I never realized how much fun (and not to mention work) having a child would have been. I love waking up and seeing her sweet smile. And I love the days we get to spend together hangin' out. I love having a lil' buddy. I am a blogger newbee but was so inspired by my friend Sheris blog. She is amazing and her blog is fun, cute and touching. I love getting on and just brousing her blog. Shes a pro-blogger for sure. I love being a mom and wife. I can't wait until I can be a full time mom, and not have to work anymore. I am a total home body and love it. I would rather be at home with my baby than anywhere else. I enjoy scrapbooking, blogging (although I dont get much time for either one), photographing my baby, decorating and being with my family. I get overwhelmed easily - but luckily I have a rock for a husband. He always keeps me grounded. I am very blessed to have him. He works hard to support us. Family is very important to me, thus one reason I started this blog. I feel so blessed to have all of the Holyoaks near by. They are such a cool family. I am grately for all that they do for us. My mom lives at the end of my street and is in town - most of the time (how lucky am I). However my dad lives in California but should be retireing here quickly. And my sister is actually moving back here to AZ real soon - yip-pee! Anyway we are lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support.
